WWE’s first press conference of Wrestlemania may have been the best press conference in the history of press conferences.
Roman Reigns chose The Rock.
Cody Rhodes chose Roman Reigns.
The Rock chose violence:
This event couldn’t have gone much better for the WWE, which is amazing when you consider where they were a week ago.
Just last Friday on Smackdown, The Rock’s surprise return led fans to believe that he would be the one to challenge The Tribal Chief at Wrestlemania 40.
That “surprise” pissed people off in numbers not seen since the Daniel Bryan saga, leaving WWE between a rock (pun intended) and a hard place.
I tried to warn them:
But now, after some course-correcting, Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns is official.
Cody Rhodes gets a second chance to finish his story.
The Rock joins The Bloodline
The biggest surprise of the evening was The Rock seemingly turning heel and joining the Bloodline in the process, although it’s unclear where exactly he goes from here.
Does he tag with Roman at Elimination Chamber? WrestleMania? Does he wrestle Cody?
These are questions that will be answered throughout the Road to WrestleMania, but kudos to Triple H and the WWE for taking this storyline to a place not many were expecting.
The Head of The Table
Yes, The Rock joined Roman Reigns
Rock literally took control of the press conference and was CLEARLY the alpha in the room, making Roman Reigns look like the little brother.
Only one man can sit at the head of the table, and right now, The Rock seems to be keeping the seat warm.
One thing is for sure:
This WrestleMania season is about to be a WILD ride.
